There’s A New Transgender Doll On The Market And Some Parents Are Seriously Against It

The transgender community has no doubt been making progress in the right direction. For the most part, they are free to live their lives opposed to being institutionalized or deemed crazy like many transgender people had to deal with throughout history. Obviously, the LGBTQ community is continually facing intolerance, but there’s no question they are more widely accepted or so it seems. Toy manufacturers are even producing transgendered dolls. In 2017 a doll based off of Transgender Youtube personality Jazz Jennings. Jennings was born a boy and transitioned to a girl at the age of 5. When Jazz was asked if the doll is a regular girl doll she had this to say: “Of course it is still just a regular girl doll because that’s exactly what I am: a regular girl!”

This is the first transgender doll on the market, and guess what?! It's ME!!!?? @tonnerdoll did a great job of creating this beautiful item! It will be available in July, and I hope that it can place transgender people in a positive light by showing that we are just like all other people? For those asking: the doll is considered to be the first "transgender" doll because it's based on an individual who is trans. Of course it is still just a regular girl doll because that's exactly what I am: a regular girl!?

This is an interesting time because I’m curious to see if parents would be open to getting this doll for their children. We got a bunch of parents answers ranging from both moms and dads of all ages, and their answers are pretty intriguing. Some are what you would expect epecially as the age gets higher people seem to have less of an open mind about the LGBTQ community but some of these answers were hopeful and awesome to hear coming from the young parents of the world!
