The 2000’s weren’t only for the Ed Hardy hats and the ‘totally hot’ Juicy Couture sweatsuits, but the era was for the music videos. What many don’t realize is that there were a lot of work and cool things that stars like Britney Spears and Usher went through to have you shakin’ your asses in front of your television screens.
1. “Yeah!” – Usher Feat. Lil Jon
Usher’s main girl in the music video waxed everything the day before because production told her she’d be wearing a thong in that blowout scene, but then they change their minds the day of. Also, the dancers on set were given out Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches, can you say “Yeah!, Yeah! – Cheap!”
2.”Get Your Freak On” – Missy Elliot
The music video was shot in an old bakery in California, but what will really surprise you is that you’d think that those freaky looking dancers were helped on washing off all of that white body paint – uh no. The dancers were sent to their hotel rooms to clean it off themselves. Can you say “Get Your Shower On?”
3. Big Girls Don’t Cry – Fergie
This was every girl’s fave song, but what many don’t know is that Fergie wasn’t talking about heartbreak, she was surprisingly talking about letting go of her addiction to heroin.
4. “Till The World Ends” – Britney Spears
Britney’s backup dancers needed to pass a drug test for the music video……… um ok?
5.”She Will Be Loved” – Maroon 5
Levine’s girlfriend at the time was furious with Adam’s love scenes with Kelly Preston (the woman he kisses so passionately in the music video). He said, “Kelly Preston is a woman I would love to make out with in real life. My girlfriend was less than happy when I did the shoot.”
