Eventually, Antonia would have to fly back to Johannesburg to help her father move into his new home. When she got there and began to help move things out the two discovered something odd about the plant. The strange thing was that the plant was plastic. It was a completely fake plant that this man has been watering for the last four years. What a wife, hitting you with the mean troll job even from the other side. What a legend!

“[It] had been in a purposely built plant holder that had a little drain but my mum must have replaced the real plants with plastic ones,”
Once Antonia and her father quickly realized what was going on they couldn’t help but to laugh. They recognized their lost loved one’s sense of humor immediately. Their mother had a unique sense of humor, and it all became to clear why she made such a big deal about watering the plants in the bathroom. This touching, hilarious prank had Twitter feelings all different kinds of ways, and we can’t blame them for that. This was an entertaining joke but the feeling these two must have had when they realized. It must have been like having her there with them for a moment, that’s a fantastic thing.
I was actually welling up til the punchline!!!

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my lovely mum last year, she was 85. But she would've loved that joke; my mum like yours had a wicked sense of humour.

Sending loves to both of you 💞. I also lost mine while she's battling cancer. She was 49. It's been a year and a half but sometimes it feels like getting harder each time I think of her.

Haters gon’ hate.
Many haters were quick to point out that the picture in the tweet is a stock photo. They quickly jumped to question the stories validity, but our girl Antonia shut them down with a real photo of her father watering his plastic plants so all you haters can kick rocks barefoot!

Sucks to suck, loser! Either way, this is a remarkable story, and I can’t imagine the feeling this gave Antonia and her father. A prank taking four years to unfold is legendary by all prank standards. I’m sure Antonia’s mother was one hell of a lady considering she thought this idea out. Thank you for sharing and allowing us all to share a laugh with your whole family!
