A Professor Asks Questions Commonly Aimed At The LGBTQ Community To Heterosexuals

Elise went on to share that the exercise seemed to work, many people were challenged to answer questions they had never imagined hearing themselves. These questions are a great learning tool because it helps you try and begin to understand someone who is different than yourself.

“The slide is supposed to be funny, but she made us really think about why it was so funny, A lot of people in the class had probably never been asked these questions before, so I think she was trying to show them what it would be like, but in a humorous way.”

Whether it’s sexual orientation, race, religion or D. all of the above, I think it’s a compelling learning experience to try and change somebodies perspective by showing we’re all people and share common feelings whether you choose to believe it or not. This professor using this exercise to force people outside of their comfort zone and to imagine what it really must be like dealing with struggles the LGBTQ community face continually is incredible. Hopefully, it gets some people to thinking; it certainly got a reaction from Twitter.

Love is love.

These are a few questions or thoughts you should keep in mind when dealing with somebody “different” than yourself. If this doesn’t help you understand that people can’t help who they love or what they are attracted to odds are, you’re a closeminded hating troll, and I’ll pray for you. Finally, for everyone who knows how to keep an open mind maybe check these questions out. Also, next time before you jump to conclusions about another person’s sexual orientation.
