Inviting your ex to a wedding is always going to be a wee bit awkward — even (and especially) if you’re a royal.
Chelsy Davy recently attending the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (AKA Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for all you American rubes out there).
This was particularly interesting considering that Davy dated Harry for roughly five years before the pair split up in 2009.
Obviously, it’s been a considerable amount of time since the breakup, and the two are apparently on decent enough terms for Davy to merit an invite to the wedding.
However, Davy’s face after she was shown to her seat in Westminster told a decidedly different story.
Twitter (as usual) was quick to notice the existential stare into the abyss.

It wasn’t long before Davy inadvertently became a meme.
Would never invite an ex, but look at her face ? the banter alone is worth it. Prince Harry is a G. https://t.co/jijmDoewrL

Oh — and did I mention that Davy was invited to the wedding, but NOT the reception?
Harry’s ex’s got invited to the wedding but not the after-party?
