She also uses a sense of humor and some goofy faces (alongside her BF) to show that amid all the perfect pictures we see on social media, there are a whole lot of goofy ones that don’t make the cut.
We all experience these less-photogenic moments, but we pretend like they don’t exist, which is silly. Embracing the silly moments and flaws is as fun, if not MORE fun, than celebrating fake perfection.
“3 different bikinis, 3 different weights, 3 different states of mind. Same height (just under 6ft/180cm),” she writes as she shows just how misleading weight can be as a metric of body type or fitness.
She uses her Instagram feed to feel more comfortable with her imperfections and hopes that other people can reap the same benefits from it that she does.
“All you need is a shower, a bucket full of makeup, a curler and you’re ready to go,” she says as regards dolling herself up to a ridiculous degree. She prefers a more natural look on her face.
She coined the term “life handles” when talking about the stuff that happens to your body when you’re out enjoying life. “The nights out with your friends, the family pack of popcorn you didn’t share, the seconds/thirds/fourths of Sunday roast with your family… the FUN in your life, the memories,” she says.
