An HBO Executive Shared Some Juicy Details About The ‘Game of Thrones’ Finale And Multiple Characters Die

If you’re a “Game of Thrones” fan, I’m sure you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seat to see what the showrunners and writers have up their sleeves for the final season. Although there’s a whole year until the final season airs, the executives who work on the show have filled many in that the final season’s scripts are written and, the cast has already sat down for some table reads. Before sitting down together, the cast had no idea what was in store. According to Variety, Francesca Orsi, HBO’s senior vice president of drama during the “The Best of HBO” panel at the INTV Conference in Israel:

“It was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers. None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths.”

One by one?!? This is insane. Now I need to know who’s going to die–even though, I have a feeling it’ll be just about everyone. Anyone else hoping Arya Stark kills all the bad guys? I’d rather see her do it than the dragons, TBH.

Orsi also said that at the table read for the final season, everyone stood up and applauded for 15-20 minutes.

“It was amazing. By the very end, everyone looked down and looked up and tears were in their eyes.”

The HBO executive also said that there are going to definitely be 3-5 spinoffs of the epic show–seeing as it has been such a hit.

“It feels like corporate malfeasance to not continue it. That’s why it spawned three, four, five spinoffs,” adding that “we’re going big.”

So, while we’re all heartbroken to see the show end, it’s good news to hear that there will be more than one spin-off–hopefully with the same kind of epic writing and iconic characters. Can’t. Wait.
