Your Favorite Meme Character Is Opening An Actual Restaurant In New York

One of the internets recent viral sensations Salt Bae is coming to New York City! Now, Salt Bae’s real name is Nusret Gökçe. Besides from stealing the internets hearts, he’s an extremely successful restaurant owner. There’s no doubt his internet fame has undoubtedly added to his businesses popularity. Regardless, it’s super impressive that this is will be his 11th restaurant opening across the globe. This New York location will be his second in the United States after recently opening up a restaurant in Miami that reportedly serves 1,000 meals a day.

The new Midtown restaurant is located at 60 West 53rd St, near Sixth Avenue. The location was scheduled to open its doors to the public this past Monday. It’s officially been announced that the opening date will be moved forward. It will have it’s doors open officially by Thursday Salt Bae hopes. A small lucky group of people has already sampled Nusret’s menu, and you best believe we can’t wait to try this beautiful 150 person restaurant. My dreams might be a little crushed if I don’t get to see my man drip salt off of his elbow, either way, I’m sure the food is dope!

In the restaurant, there is a huge illustration of Salt bae himself to add some of his signature flashy persona. The menu hasn’t been finalized at the moment, but we can expect a similar experience to his most recent Miami location. The restaurant will specialize in a variety of different cuts of steak, beef, lamb, and veal. The meals will be chargrilled and then cut table-side portions for an authentic “Salt Bae” experience. The New York City restaurant was designed by Glen & Co. Architecture and it looks stunning!
