On Sunday, Bella Thorne publicly joined the Time’s Up campaign when she took to Instagram and shared that she was sexually abused. Bella took a stand with her colleagues at the Golden Globes all of which who support the campaign. She went onto bravely shares her personal experience with sexual assault that occurred from a young age until she was about fourteen. Say what you will about Bella Thorne but anyone using their celebrity status to speak out against a disgusting reality too many people are faced with is commendable on a ton of levels. Especially when she was affected directly when she was sexually abused as a child.

Bella joins the Time’s Up campaign which was put together on behalf of over 300 women who work in the film industry. The idea is they understand they have access to an enormous platform and they want to use it. Finally, there’s a group of influential men and women who are banding together and speaking out. Hopefully, this will really bring a focus to the sexual predator epidemic. Bella also went on to share the same image on her Twitter although there was a different caption.
I never knew what was right or wrong growing up..I didn't know the person sneaking into my bed room at night was a bad person. #timesup pic.twitter.com/PD6PY7LgcX
