Can Netflix be romantic? While the closest thing I’ve gotten to romance from the streaming service is an awkward “Netflix and Chill” session in some dude’s dorm while That 70’s Show beamed in the background —it might actually be the perfect way to pop the big question for others.
Netflix fan Conor wanted to propose to his girlfriend of almost 6 years, Kamela, in a very movie-moment way. With a little help from The Santa Clarita Diet cast, he was able to pull it off. For those of you unfamiliar with the show, this Netflix original series stars Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant and chronicles the story of a husband and wife after she undergoes a very dramatic transformation (she’s a flesh-eating zombie).
Kamela believed she was going to be on a reality show with Conor that would shoot them while they watched Netflix in their living room. As they sat down on their couch and tuned into The Santa Clarita Diet, on-screen couple Barrymore and Olyphant talked about marriage. Everything seemed perfectly normal until they asked Conor if he had any additional questions. (Wait, huh? What’s Conor doing there?). Moments later Conor appeared on the screen with Barrymore and Olyphant. He said had just one more question, but it wasn’t for them. It was for Kamela. SURPRISE —wonder what it could be? Don’t worry, he asked the actual question IRL and pulled out some nice finger bling for his girl. Let’s just say Kamela was super emotional and super surprised. And of course, she said yes! You can’t deny this is one of the sweetest (and coolest) ways to propose to someone. Like most romantic comedies on Netflix, this real-life moment had a happy ending. Even Twitter broke out the tissues.
It's 7 AM, @netflix. I didn't need to be crying this early in the day. So cute!!!

Excuse me while I go cry my eyes out over this insanely cute proposal and my nonexistent love life. Here’s to hoping Conor and Kamela will live happily ever after!
