The Kardashian and Jenner family are well known for making waves in the entertainment industry. Let’s face it, whether you watch their show or follow them on social media (or none of the above), you still low-key care when people attack them. Half of y’all love to see them being swarmed with hate on social media and the other half of y’all think they deserve some slack every once in a while. Love them or hate them, they’re always stirring up some kind of drama.
1. Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi Ad.
This year, Kendall Jenner was featured in a controversial advertisement for Pepsi. The ad featured the model “on a job” in the midst of a political protest in a city, and, she decides to enter the crowds to find out what it’s all about. The end of the ad features Kendall giving a police officer a Pepsi, and apparently “ending” the issue of the protest. However, many activist groups were outraged, such as the “Black Lives Matter” movement and other organizations were angry that the ad and Kendall Jenner trivialized all of their messages and protests, using actual events for monetary gain.
After social media blew up with negative feedback, the ad was pulled and banned from airing on TV and the company issued a statement saying:
“Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace, and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.”
Kendall Jenner also issued a public apology on her family’s TV show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
Kim Kardashian Snapchats a lot of daily routines in her life when promoting businesses she owns. Sometimes, fans see a video and take things a little too far. In July, Kim was filming a video and fans thought two white lines on the table behind her was lines of cocaine. They jumped on her all over Twitter, attacking her asking what kind of mother she is to be doing drugs in the house in the middle of the day.
Of course, Kim doesn’t play games when it comes to this kind of rumor. At first, she thought it was leftover sugar from a trip she and her kids took to Dylan’s Candy Bar.

I do not play with rumors like this so I'm gonna shut it down real quick. That's sugar from our candy mess from dylan's candy shop https://t.co/oICdPQVi8d— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) July 11, 2017
But, it turns out, it wasn’t sugar at all. It was actually just the design of the table. She was quick to record a follow-up video that she was indeed not doing cocaine and the lines were apart of the marble table design, showing the entire table having the same lines.
OMG you guys!!! Check my snap chats or insta stories I'm crying!!! That was not candy on my table! The table was marble this whole time!— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) July 12, 2017

One of the biggest (and worst) scandals from the family this year had to do with Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna. The two had been so hot and cold for the entirety of 2016, it’s no surprise they brought drama into 2017, too. After being on-again and off-again, Rob found out Chyna was cheating on him for the majority of their relationship with another guy, even after she was pregnant with their child, and he decided to take revenge by not only exposing Chyna by posting text messages from her and Rob and Rob and her new man, he also posted nude photos of her on his Instagram page. In the state of California, revenge porn is absolutely illegal, so Chyna hired a lawyer to protect herself.
She received a restraining order and a gag order against Rob in court.
