With Thanksgiving already here and gone, the spirit of Christmas has begun to blossom and honestly, it must be in full swing because a man by the name of “Charlie K” just dropped some good money for more than over 8 thousand items at a Toys R Us in Cherry Hill, NJ.
This is Charlie K.
While doing a segment @ToysRUs in Cherry Hill, Charlie walked in & decided to pay off all items on layaway. Over 8,000 toys!
Charlie also had everyone in the store pick 3 items for @ToysForTots_USA & paid for those too. Amazing generosity. Thank you Charlie. pic.twitter.com/GWr1pbGnVV— Pat Gallen (@PatGallenCBS3) November 24, 2017
The story apparently goes a little like this, Charlie was just doing his thing, buying toys for his son on Black Friday when he decided to scrap that idea and buy almost all of the toys that were put on layaway. Say what? Yup, almost ALL of the toys that were on layaway. Not only that, but after buying all of the toys he asked everyone in the store at that particular moment to pick out at least 3 toys they wished to send over to Toys for Tots, an organization who’s sole purpose is to gift children who’s caregivers aren’t able to provide for them gifts on Christmas.

Many families like the Dawson family ran to the store once news spread out just to see if they were one of the lucky receivers. Stephanie Dawson, felt such a relief to know that all seven of her grandchildren were going to be receiving their gifts this year. The total of the money she would have spent would have been over two hundred dollars.
“I want to say thank you very much and I appreciate it and thank God for you,” she told Charlie.
Others like Jessica Key had absolutely no clue what was going on and was completely shocked to find out that her items were already paid for when she went to go pick them up.
“They come over and tell me someone actually paid the layaway, “[It’s] definitely an early Christmas and I want to say thank you to the gentleman that came in and donated. It’s like the best feeling, thank you.”
Although Charlie had originally proposed to purchase all of the toys that were put on hold, his budget only allowed him to pay for about sixty orders but that didn’t stop the world from praising his Christmas spirit.
It's wonderful to see the Holidays bring out the best in everyone.
