“Game of Thrones” Actor Says This Theory Bans Daenerys & Cersei From The Iron Throne

Season 7 of Game of Thrones is just heating up (or cooling down, since Winter is officially here) and everything is coming full-circle. I’ve seriously been waiting for the moment that all of these character narratives were going to come together and, after the latest episode, we’re finally going to see all of these worlds collide.

While we know Dany wants to sit on the Iron Throne and rule the Seven Kingdoms, we also know that there’s a possibility that someone else can snatch the throne from Cersei that’s not the Mother of Dragons. And yet, fans are rooting for Dany to get her crown – because, lets face it – she’s the fairest ruler out of all the candidates (except for Jon Snow, but hell, he doesn’t want to be king anyway, he’s just out to kill White Walkers).

While we’re all waiting on the edge of our seats/beds/couches/floors/wherever you watch Game of Thrones to see who is going to end up on the Iron Throne, there are theories bouncing around the Internet as to who will finally get the crown. And, even the actors who play lead characters on the HBO show are discussing the theories – because, some of them are really that interesting. Some actors even come up with their own theories, as well.

Recently, actor John Bradley-West – who plays Samwell Tarly on the show – appeared on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix series (the real QUEEN) and discussed some Game of Thrones details. John basically opened up about a theory that he believes could ban basically anyone we think will take the Iron Throne from actually being allowed to sit on the Iron Throne.

The theory has to do with – well, incest.

Every single time I see Cersei and Jamie together on screen, I am reminded that they had sex and birthed three children together – and they’re not only brother and sister, but they’re twins. They shared the same womb. They came into the world together. It’s just…sickening. And, the people of Westeros obviously feel the same way because – when people found out Cersei’s children weren’t Robert’s – throats were cut.

John did dish on this theory saying that not only does it ban the people that partake in relationships involving incest from sitting on the Iron Throne – but, also, those who are children of incest. Now, I know you’re thinking – well, Joffrey and Tommen both held the throne for a hot minute – they were both killed in the end (or committed suicide) which means, the fates didn’t want them to be King.

He also said that because of the Targaryen’s family history of incest – basically what drove her father to be “The Mad King,” she may not be allowed to sit on the Iron Throne at all. So, all that travel and trouble for…nothing? John explained that early in the show, we see that Dany’s brother Viserys took hella advantage of Dany as a young girl – incest.

So – without Cersei or Dany allowed to sit on the Iron Throne – in this theory – who would we turn to? Jon Snow? Turns out, the theory states that because Jon Snow isn’t Ned Stark’s son and technically “illegitimate,” he too could be vacated from the throne. But – we know that Jon is essentially a Targaryen – which adds him to the incest family tree.

God, guys, can’t you sleep with anyone else?

Who does that even leave us with?

I vote Arya Stark. I need me a Queen with some guts.
