It’s difficult to say exactly why Rick and Morty is such a resounding success across the millennial demographic. It’s weird, psychedelic in a not-cool way, nihilistic, and drowning in self-defeat and death. It’s an odd generational rallying point, but a rallying point it is. Probably because millennials—the generation ruining everything and building nothing, or so the mass media would have us believe—can relate.
