Netflix Reached Out To Check On This User After He Watched 188 Episodes Of ‘The Office’ In One Week

It’s no secret that Netflix monitors the shows we all watch. They even began poking jabs at their users over the holiday season. Netflix tweeted out that there were over 50 people who watched ‘A Christmas Prince’ for 18 days straight. I don’t blame Netflix for this tweet because its apparent over 50 of their subscribers were going through an emotional time. They were just looking out for you guys no need for hard feelings.

I can understand people being uneasy with the idea that Netflix is watching them just as much as they’re watching Netflix. It shouldn’t be surprising that the company has access to all this information, but maybe nobody expected them to start calling people out. I thought it was a funny tweet that engages with their customers but of course being in 2018 it had to bother a few people. Netflix didn’t even single anybody out, so I don’t understand how it rubbed people the wrong way.

There was a significant portion of Twitter that found humor in the whole the Tweet. You know because it was funny so I’m glad to see not everyone’s sense of humor is gone. When I think about it, I wish Netflix would release the rankings so I could see all the embarrassing things my friends watch. I could also finally see if anyone watches more of ‘The Office’ and ‘Parks & Recs’ than I do.

According to one Reddit user, the answer is a hard yes. The Redd user King-Salamander shared a time when he was dealing with his depression. During this time he was on break from school and wasn’t working so he did what any normal person would do. He binged watched his favorite show which happened to be ‘The Office.’ Great choice King-Salamander nothing makes you feel good like Michael Scott and the Dunder Mifflin crew. He ended up watching all 188 episodes in a week, and they took into account that he kept clicking the still watching option that tries to make us all feel bad.

In this instance, Netflix picking someone out for their watching habits was much appreciated. After reaching out to King-Salamander, he said it was just good to there was someone out there. That’s pretty awesome if you think about it. Netflix continually fills people with joy because it’s an incredible thing, but this is something special.

“Honestly made me feel better just knowing that someone, even a stranger working at a customer support agency, cared about my mental health,”.

Way to be Netflix!

So it may be unsettling and maybe a bit embarrassing that Netflix keeps track of everything you watch and how often but it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Even if you don’t like that idea you have to admit in this case, it’s pretty impressive the way they used the information. As long as they continue to use their powers for good I’m all for it. Even if it is a little bit creepy. It apparently left a positive impact on this guy, and that’s something everyone should get behind. Depression is the worst and if Netflix can help someone chill than I have no beef over here If Netflix ever reaches out to you for your impressive binging skills do King-Salamander a favor and give them this message!

“If anyone from Netflix wanted to hire me, send me a message. I graduate in a year.”
