‘Human Ken Doll’ Removes Four Ribs To Have A More ‘Perfect Body’

Meet Rodrigo Alves. He’s been nicknamed the “Human Ken” doll because he looks like he’s maybe not a real person, but instead one made of plastic. In his quest to have what he considers to be the perfect male physique (you know, like Babrie’s boyfriend), the 34-year-old has undergone dozens of cosmetic procedures at a cost of more than $700,000.

He’s become something of an internet celebrity and a curiosity, and he appeared on the British talk show This Morning to discuss his “journey,” as well as his landmark 60th surgical procedure: He had four ribs removed. That gave him the 20-inch waist that he wanted, although he actually originally wanted to go further and get six ribs removed. He was lucky to even find a doctor that would do the four.

“I visited three different doctors – two in Europe and one in America,” Alves said. “I chose the best doctor. I had the procedure. I’m very happy.”

Alves’ specific reason for this surgery: It’s all about the clothes. He says he wanted to “express myself through fashion. My blazers have to be altered. I had to always have a bigger blazer and get it altered. I had four ribs removed so that I can do up my blazers without having to breathe in or have my blazers altered.”
