HBO Announces There Will Be No ‘Game Of Thrones’ In 2018 And We’re Heartbroken

This elongated period of waiting time also comes with a ton of pressure. Now we HAVE to survive until 2019; there is no way you can miss how ‘Game of Thrones’ ends after all this time I’ve been a fan since episode one 1 season 1. Seven years ago I dove head first into Westeros and have never looked back. That’s almost 33.3% of my life dedicated to the emotional roller coaster that is Thrones. I have no choice; I now have to make it to 2019. That means I might actually stick to my new year’s resolution. You best believe I’ll be eating healthy and working out, new year new me! I have something significant to live for, and it’s ‘Game of Thrones’ in 2019. Valar Morghulis, just not until after season 8, alright?

For a lot of fans, there is some silver lining to the extended weight and shortened season. Some fans didn’t love season 7 and thought it was a bit rushed. Those fans are taking solace in that the extra time should give them plenty of time to come up with the best ending possible. As almost all fans know the Eighth season of Thrones is only going to be six episodes long. Although the episodes are supposed to be ‘super-sized’ and may even ‘be the length of a feature film’ I’m a bit skeptical.

How do you plan on wrapping up all the storylines in 6 episodes!?! The longest episode we’ve gotten so far was the final episode of Season 7, ‘The Dragon and the Wolf,‘ which ran for 80 minutes and was incredible! The six last episodes are planned to run just as long if not longer, so that’s kinda cool.

2019 Can’t come any sooner.

It’s going to be a tough 12 plus months ahead of us people, which is nothing compared to fans of the books but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Filming began in October and usually takes about eight months, but with the wedding and extended episodes, I would guess we are a very long way away, like May of 2019 far away. Just a guess let’s hope I’m mistaken, until then I guess I’m going to restart Season 1 for the 28th time. Good luck everyone, I’m sure 2019 will be here in no time!
