Who’s ready for a Doritos Locos taco alongside a refreshing cup of beer? On Friday, Taco Bell opened their latest cantina in Newport Beach, CA. Among the many amenities, this new location offered— including a walk-up window and Twisted Freezes — a Taco Bell exclusive beer was among them. Being that this was the chain’s first SoCal location, the fast-food giant partnered with Huntington Beach’s local Four Son’s Brewing to produce an exclusive brew called Beach Bell, according to a press release. This light and crispy Mexican-Style Amber Lager has a smooth and robust taste with a clean finish, making it perfect to pair with a Taco Bell meal. Sadly, Beach Bell will be available for a limited time only.
If you live nowhere near Southern California, don’t fret. It doesn’t mean you’ll never get your share of boozy taco meals. The chain has had announced plans to open 300 more cantina locations within the next 5 years in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Chicago, Boulder, and Madison. The Taco Bells that serve alcohol can be recognized by the addition of ‘cantina’ to their title.
Taco Bell has really expanded their repertoire in recent times, by not only getting their hands dirty in the alcohol biz but also the fashion industry. Earlier this year, Taco Bell teamed up with Forever 21 and released a spicy clothing line. My opinion: these clothes are too cheesy (just like their tacos)
But, it seems people are down for the beer movement at Taco Bell, as users on Twitter expressed excitement and even shock.
