Barack Obama Showing Up For Jury Duty Is The Purest Thing On The Internet Right Now

If you live in America, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve been served with jury duty. It is arguably the most groan-worthy piece of mail that one can every receive (other than your student loan statement). No one wants to go to jury duty. In all reality, you sit in a room with a bunch of other people who are just as miserable as you are and wait to get called. By the time you do get called, you’ve been there all day, you’re starving and they’re showing the same day-time TV show for the 45th time on their small, old-school TV. You end up waiting two-three days before you even get into the courtroom and get questioned. And, of course, you keep your fingers crossed that they don’t pick you for jury – no one wants to have to continuously sit there and decide someone else’s fate. Unless, of course, you’re super into Law & Order and you want to. Either way – jury duty can be a huge pain in the ass. The funny thing about it is that everyone has to do it – even former Presidents.

Former President Barack Obama showed up this week to serve his jury duty in Chicago at the Daley Center. People who were dreading their day at jury duty immediately felt blessed to be there because – who doesn’t want to be in the presence of Obama?

Numerous people took to Twitter and Facebook to share videos and photos of Obama, well, being a regular human being and doing his civic duty.

It just goes to show you that sometimes going to jury duty isn’t the worst thing in the world. Also, side note, we miss you Obamarama. Come back soon. Xo.
