Over the years, the relationship has become more strained and uncomfortable, as it has unraveled in the spotlight through passive aggressive comments and gestures. In an interview on Monday at the Cambridge Union, Caitlyn basically said she has no relationship with her “Kardashian’ side of the family any longer.
It’s been a little bit tough over the last couple of years on the Kardashian side. To be honest, I don’t talk to them anymore. Kim, I haven’t talked to in a year. They don’t want me in their lives, they bashed me pretty badly. It’s devastating when your kids do that. It really hurt.
She went on to say:
I tried to be honest in my book. Very fair and very nice. Unfortunately, they didn’t take it that way. In the book, I express some opinions and got shot down. It was not about the Kardashians. They were only mentioned on 20 pages. They made it more about them on television. The book was about my life. That’s caused a lot of the separation between us.
Honestly, I can see where the Kardashians are coming from and also where Caitlyn is coming from. One would expect support from their family through a trialing time like transitioning. But, I have seen Caitlyn be pretty petty and shady towards her former family, as well. It’s a double edged sword. You can’t expect everyone to be so accepting of you when you throw their mother under the bus – and they’re late father, too. Like my mom always said, you get more flies with honey than vinegar.
