A Porn Site Wants To Pick Up Sense8 And It’s… Kinda Perfect?

Earlier this year, Netflix cancelled their bold, occasionally erotic sci-fi series Sense8. The show, despite having a cult audience, apparently wasn’t pulling the sort of viewing numbers that would justify its continued production.

After a campaign from fans to bring it back, Lana and Lilly Wachowski — the show’s creators — ended up negotiating a 2-hour series finale, in order to at least give the show a proper sendoff.

Still though, the show’s rabid fan base wants more Sense8, and the Wachowski’s have apparently been writing a 3rd season despite not having a home for it.

And that’s where the porn site xHamster comes in…

“Dear Lana and Lilly,” xHamster Vice President Alex Hawkins writes in an open letter the the show’s creators. “We recently read that you’re working on a third season of Sense8 despite the fact that Netflix has no plans to renew the series. We know it’s unconventional, but we want to bring it back — on xHamster. We’re not talking about a parody, or something less than, but an actual revival of the series.”

That’s right, xHamster — one of the world’s most popular porn sites — wants to produce a big-budget original series. What’s more interesting than that, though, is the fact that they have a pretty interesting and legitimate case for it.

Here’s their full letter:

Besides scifi and action, Sense8 has been pretty bold about representing the LGBTQ community as well as exploring non-normative sex and relationships in a non-judgemental way.

If you think about it, that’s also kind of what porn sites do. That and advertise boner pills.

Not to mention, porn sites are some of the most visited webpages on the globe. Pretty much everyone visits them at some point throughout the month/week/workday. So why not? A huge built-in audience that is already down to let their freak-flag fly?

Sounds like a perfect fit.
