Romance is not in the grand gestures, it’s in the little ones. Just to let us know you’re thinking about us, and that you love us. Picking up someone’s favourite [x] just because you wanted to. Surprise hugs. Hand-holding in public. Stuff like that.

It’s all in her communication. The way she tells me she loves me, the way she looks in my eyes. Making me dinner or taking me out to a nice place with everything already planned. Telling me, lets go do something, just the two of us. Playing a sweet song for me, singing to me. Saying she wants to be held. Even if she just reaffirms her feelings for me in a sweet way. There are so many things a woman can do outside of sex that is romantic.

My girlfriend paid for a plane ticket for me to come see her (LDR). Before she left she made a box of some things that reminded her of me and our time together. She just puts in effort and spends money just to see me or do things that make me happy.

Bring coffee to their work in the morning unannounced. That is fucking hot. Even announced. If she just says hey I’m going to bring you coffee tomorrow morning. We all have different ideas for romance. For me, a girl catering a date to my interests would be nice. The girl plans the date herself, chooses a place I like to eat, and maybe an activity I enjoy. Hell, she doesn’t even have to pay, I don’t mind paying and find nothing romantic over either party paying. I would simply enjoy the effort she puts forth showing me she knows what I like and wants me to be happy.

One of my past girlfriends used to call me her king in her native language. I thought it was very flattering and romantic. This is coming from someone who actually hates pet names but she managed to put so much dignity and respect into it. She knew how to treat me.
