VR Porn Goes Mainstream with Psych Study

Porn has always been a huge deal, especially on the internet. It’s estimated that one-third of all internet traffic is porn-based, making it the largest individual product segment that is searched online. Given its popularity, it should be no surprise that VR has made its way to porn. In fact, it’s practically mainstream at this point.

Due to its taboo nature, the porn industry has always had to operate with less traditional marketing methods. It’s had to constantly pivot and change itself to stay with the times, and the product has had be so good that it sells itself.

The desire to stay relevant and edgy is what makes the porn industry so competitive. That’s the main reason that the porn providers are studying the VR content they’ve made to better understand the customers.

BaDoinkVR and Neurons recently studied five males, with an average age of 27, to better understand the psychological effects of VR porn. The subjects were told to watch one of BaDoink’s Top VR porn videos, which is about eight minutes long. During that time, the subjects were not allowed to masterbate.
