If you were to ask any girl from the ’90s who they wanted to see in concert for a reunion, it would always (hands down) be the Spice Girls. The five fiery females that embrace fashion, girl-power, and being yourself was a staple of our childhood growing up in the ’90s. Between hit songs, delicious lollipops with stickers, and always screaming ‘GIRL POWAAAA” everywhere–there is no better girl band out there. For years, the group has denied the rumors they would ever get back together, as the majority of the girls had ventured out to do other projects and work, like starting families or having a fashion empire. But, this past week, our wildest dreams came true.
The girls got back together for a little fun–and, it turns out, they’ve decided to get back together as more than just friends and reunite the band in 2018. Victoria Beckham’s agent told Entertainment Weekly:
“We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls. The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together.”
He also issued a full statement on behalf of all five women saying:
Victoria Beckham also uploaded a photo of the girls with Simon Fuller (who created the Spice Girls way back when), who, most likely will be involved in the reunion.
As well, Emma Bunton, Baby Spice, posted the group photo with the caption:
The future is looking spicy.
If you’re a true ’90s girl, your heart is exploding right now. I haven’t been this excited about new music from an artist…ever. These five girls taught me how to be a proud female and never let anyone steal my shine. Viva FOREVER. I’m not the only one who is excited about this news. Twitter has been going wild with excitement since the girls announced their reunion.

If you don’t get why Spice Girls reunion rumors spark such anticipation and discussion, lemme tell you why: I saw their last reunion tour. The air became charged. Molecules reorganized into new formations. It was basically the shimmery other-world from Annihilation.
