It’s no secret that Matthew Lewis— better known as the hopelessly clumsy borderline-Squib Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter universe— is a babe. He practically spearheaded the rise of the term #GlowUp, his unbelievable physical transformation from an ugly duckling into a beautiful, chiseled swan no doubt serving as inspiration and hope to countless prepubescent would-be witches and wizards worldwide.
But it’s been a while since we’ve seen a shirtless Lewis. Too long, really. The universe/British television station ITV agreed, which presumably is why we were gifted Girlfriends, a British television drama chockfull of good actors and— you guess it— a shirtless Matthew Lewis.
Matthew Lewis plays Tom, the troubled son of Zoë Wanamaker’s character Gail, who is going through a divorce along with her friends Linda and Sue.
If Gail, looks familiar…
That’s because she used to star alongside Lewis in Harry Potter as formidable flying instructor and Quidditch ref Madam Hooch:
It’s been over 15 years since the two worked together in Harry Potter, but Wanamaker still remembers Lewis as a child, and said of his recent transformation to What’s on TV, “I haven’t seen Matthew since he was in Harry Potter, so it was a shock when I saw him. This gorgeous hunk.” Um, yes, agreed.
I could just keep looking at this gif endlessly…
