We all know people who are die-hard sports fans. The type of people who will do just about anything for their teams. Like, sit out in freezing cold temperatures to watch a game live, spend hundreds of dollars to see their players in person, and withstand all of the losses and horrible times just to see their team win. Sometimes, it’s beautiful to see how loyal fans are to their favorite teams. Other times, fans take things way too far. For some reason, people forget that professional athletes are like actors/actresses – they are doing their job when they’re playing a game, the same way actors are doing their job when they’re playing a character on a show or in a movie. As much as they want to win for the fans, they don’t owe us much else. They’re simply doing their jobs. But, when we take things too personally and forget that athletes are people, we can insult them entirely. Like, these fans at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ stadium over the weekend.
After Seattle Seahawks player Quinton Jefferson was ejected from the football game for unnecessary roughness, some fans decided to throw food and beers at him on the way to the locker room. Of course, Jefferson was angry that people would throw their trash at him, he’s a person and doesn’t deserve that at all. He got so angry, he climbed up the wall into the stands and had to have security hold him back.

After being asked about his behavior, the Seahawks player said:
“Folks in the stands was throwing beer and throwing soda, whatever. I mean, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I’m a human just like anybody else. I’m a man just like the other man in the stands. I’m not going to let somebody disrespect me, throw a beer on me.”

People on Twitter definitely agreed with Jefferson. It’s disgusting for people to throw anything at another person, just because they do something you don’t like. Athletes are people, not animals.

He’s 10,000% correct. Some people think because they paid to see the game they can say/do whatever they want. It’s disgraceful

Don’t blame him one bit. Those fans should be banned from games. Ridiculous.

Would have been a lot of scared little boys if he had made it in them stands.
