Every year, thousands of people look forward to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Besides all of the insanely large floats and balloons, a lot of celebrities, organizations, and departments perform and give back to the community in entertaining and inspiring ways. This year, the ’90s alternative band the Goo Goo Dolls were invited to perform at the parade and people were a bit insulted by their introduction.

Apparently, when NBC introduced the band, they referred to them as “classic rock band.” Now, I don’t know about you, but when I hear the words “classic rock,” I think of bands like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, ACDC…not The Goo Goo Dolls. Classic means “dated” in a sense – and if you’re going to tell me the ’90s are “dated,” I’m going to just stop speaking to you forever. After hearing the announcement, Twitter users began to express their disgust with the feeling of getting way too old.
