16 Thanksgiving-Themed TV Episodes To Watch While Neglecting Your Cooking

7. Seinfeld – “The Mom and Pop Store” (Season 6, Episode 8):

Seinfeld is a classic and a personal favorite of mine because my dad and I used to watch it every time I spent a holiday with him (RIP, Pops). The best part of this Thanksgiving episode is that it features Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – which, of course, is everyone’s favorite part of the holiday (or just mom’s). Elaine wins her boss a spot at holding a parade float, while Jerry gets pissed he’s not invited to a party that all his friends are.

8. Master of None – “Thanksgiving” (Season 2, Episode 8):

If you haven’t watched Master of None on Netflix, now is a perfect time to start. Aziz Ansari’s comedy show is absolutely hilarious – it’s the kind of humor we all need in life. This particular episode is not only funny but also deep and meaningful as it showcases the story of Aziz’s friend, Denise, coming out to her family.

9. How I Met Your Mother – “Slapsgiving” (Season 3, Episode 9):

HIMYM is a great way to laugh your way through awkward family holidays. This episode showcases the tradition between Marshall and Barney where Marshall won a bet and gets to slap Barney five times as his prize (epic). Ted and Robin are busy getting over that post-breakup stage and it makes the holiday a bit…awk.
