In society, there are a lot of controversial conversations surrounding the topic of rape. While there is absolutely no acceptable reason for someone to commit any type of sexual assault or rape – men somehow find themselves making meaningless nonsense excuses anyway – because…of course they do.
One woman recently shared a Facebook post about her adorable dog and a steak she was making for dinner – but made a powerful statement against those who think that rape is excusable. The post has since gone viral online.
Bree Wiseman is a pastry chef and restaurant manager – and, from my experience of working in restaurants, sexual innuendos fly around kitchens more so there than anywhere else. She posted this photo of her dog with the caption:
“To the people that say women get raped due to the way they are dressed. This is my dog. His favorite food is steak. He is eye level with my plate. He won’t get any closer because I told him no. If a dog is better behaved than you are, you need to reevaluate your life. Feel free to share, my dog is adorable.”
It does make a powerful statement towards people – not only men – who cannot “control themselves” when people use the word “no.” And, people were definitely proud of Bree for speaking out.
