In the Season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones, there were more than just our favorite characters present during the episode. Low and behold, the first celebrity cameo of the first half of the final season of GoT featured none other than Ed Sheeran. While some Game of Thrones fans are Ed Sheeran fans – many of them are not. And, in turn, Twitter was in uproar over his brief cameo in the episode.

Shortly after thousands of people were complaining on Twitter about Ed Sheeran even being alive – the singer deleted his Twitter account altogether. And, most people believed that this was due to the increasing amount of “hate tweets” he was receiving. No better way to deal with the haters than to ignore them and prevent yourself from seeing it – right?

But, Ed Sheeran took to Instagram to share with fans and followers just why he deleted his Twitter – kind of. Well, he basically said it had nothing to do with his Game of Thrones cameo and the fact that people hated it.

He wrote:

Last i’ll say on this. I came off Twitter Coz I was always intending to come off Twitter, had nothing to do with what people said about my game of thrones cameo, because I am in game of thrones, why the hell would I worry what people thought about that. It’s clearly fuckin’ awesome. Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want. Here is an unrelated picture of me and my wonderful manager riding off into the sunset together

There you have it folks – y’all are not that important.
