Avengers: Infinity War may have been referred to as the “most ambitious crossover event in history,” but this epic, real-life superhero team-up just might have it beat.
Earlier this month, Donna Rigby put out a call through Twitter on behalf of her 17-year-old son Josh, who only has a few months to live and wanted to meet—or receive a message—from the actors behind Marvel’s top heroes. He’s been battling cancer for much of his life, having been diagnosed with leukemia at age 5 and stage IV glioblastoma (an aggressive form of brain cancer) at age 15, and according to Rigby (via a note posted by a friend), Deadpool was Josh’s favorite hero.
PLEASE SHARE THE HELL OUT OF THIS!

It didn’t take long for Ryan Reynolds, the actor behind the Merc with a Mouth, to get in touch with Josh and his family, who are located in Australia. But over the next several days, more heroes stepped up once again to answer the call.
As shared on a Twitter account run by Josh’s family, Reynolds sent a video for Josh from “Uncle Deadpool” and told him that “it’s pretty much a fact that you have more courage and more strength in your pinky finger than any superhero does in their entire body.”

Having seen many of the messages shared with him and his family, Josh recorded a short message thanking everyone who sent him messages and made an effort to make it happen.

It’s nice to see Marvel’s finest assemble when the world needs them.
