One Massachusetts teenager has fallen in love with a zombie doll. So much so, that she is ready to marry it.
According to Metro UK, 19-year-old Felicity Kadlec has been in an intimate relationship with the zombie doll for the last three years, after having received it as a gift when she was 13 years old.
“We have a normal, intimate relationship which is progressing in the normal way – and we are getting married in September,” said the teenager. Kadlec also explained how it took some time for her to come to terms with her feelings.
“Our relationship was on and off since I was 16, because I would tell myself that it was wrong and break it off. But over the past year I have really come to terms with my feelings for her and I know that my love for her cannot be changed,” she said.
Kadlec, who found “Kelly” on a creepy doll collection website and has since gotten her name tattooed on her arm, admits that not everyone is understanding of their relationship.
“I have had boyfriends in the past, and I always thought that I was in love with them – but they never made me feel the way I do now,” she said. “Unfortunately a lot of people don’t understand our relationship, but I am so confident that I’m in love with Kelly that I got her name tattooed on my arm.”
“I got her name tattooed on my arm in the spring because she’s always going to be a part of my heart,” said the teenager, adding, “she is a part of me and no one can change that. I am intimate with Kelly – I caress her and feel safe with her, and I feel a genuine connection when I’m having an intimate moment with her.”
“I get a lot of different opinions about Kelly and I’s relationship – but I expect that. I know there are some people out there who think I should be with a real human, but to me Kelly is real.”
Kadlec revealed that friends and family are not as supportive as she’d like. “I do even receive criticism from my friends and family – if we go out with them they won’t let me bring Kelly with me,” she said.
“If we go for food she always has to stay inside the car because people will stare at her, so we’ve never been able to have a date in public.”
“But regardless of what other people think about our relationship, she makes me happy and I love her so that’s all that matters.”
Having sexual and/or romantic feelings towards inanimate objects is known as “object sexuality,” or objectophilia. According to Wikipedia, “those individuals with this expressed preference may feel strong feelings of attraction, love, and commitment to certain items or structures of their fixation. For some, sexual or even close emotional relationships with humans are incomprehensible.”
