16. Unrealistic popularity contests:

The plastics. There is no set “popular” group. (At least in my high school.) Sure there are kids that are (sometimes very) well known but there isn’t a group (much less a small group like the plastics) that ruled the school.
15. Racial issues:

It was weird that they went out of the way to make sure Cady was white. Like, wouldn’t a girl from Africa be, y’know, black?
14. Not happily ever after:
The fact that the plastics got separated at the end of the movie. Thats totally not how you end a movie, its like having the cat in the hat die. Or Prince Charming rescuing Fiona instead of Shrek.
13. Bad representation of LGTBQ people:

They used the word ‘dyke’ to descibe Janis in their burn book. Not cool.
12. It’s a continent, not a country:
One thing that annoyed me was that Cady kept saying she’s “from Africa.” Everyone I know who comes to America is usually vocal about the country they are from, not the continent…
11. Body negativity:
I didn’t like the store Regina shopped at. How weird and unrealistic for a store to carry only sizes 1, 3 or 5? Very few girls are those sizes only. How they he’ll do they stay in business?
10. Too provocative for high school IRL:
The talent show where the girls did their Jingle Bell Rock dance in their costumes. Those girls would’ve never been allowed on stage looking like that and doing that dance in real high schools.
9. Too old for high school:
I hate that they made most of the cast wayyy outta high school. I know its a movie. But still. Also, did you know that Regina George’s hair is a wig???
8. Making girls feel dumb:
I was always kind of bothered by the average dumb blonde stereotype placed on Karen.
7. How did Cady speak perfect English with zero accent?
Ok. I can’t bash this movie because it’s one of my favorites of all time, but I’ve always wondered why Cady didn’t have an accent. My friend grew up in Africa (and was homeschooled) from 5-15 and even she had a bit of an accent when she came to the US.
6. Unrealistic discipline in high school:
How in God’s name did Regina not get dress coded for walking out of the girl’s locker room with the nipple area of her shirt being cut off??? Like, in the real world, the school would have called an entire assembly discussing the importance of appropriate fashion in a school setting. I get dress coded for showing my shoulders in school, but Regina can walk around with her entire bra showing???? I don’t think so.
