In 2017, one of the biggest names on the Internet and in the world of memes was Danielle Bregoli. The 14-year-old from Florida made her claim to fame when she was featured on “The Dr. Phil Show” as an “out of control teenager” whose mother couldn’t get a reign on her. Her mother turned to the show for some expert advice and help in dealing with her reckless and daughter. Bregoli made a name for herself when she was on the TV show and coined the term ‘cash me ousside, how bow dat?’ asking audience members if they wanted to meet her outside and fight.
Bregoli made a pretty big name for herself by everyone using her catch-phrase and buying merch and other items with her words and face on them. Realistically, people were only using her as a punchline and laughing at her. But, it seems as though any attention is good attention–if you’re looking to make some serious money. Bregoli decided to use her newfound fame to launch her rap career.
In July 2017, Bregoli was sentenced to five years probation after being charged with grand theft auto, marijuana possession, and filing a false police report. So, she decided that since she’s now an outlaw, the right thing to do would be to rap about it–obviously. Seeing as she had millions of followers on social media already, she decided to use them to her advantage. In August 2017, she released her very first single–and, it caught the eyes of some labels.
