Curvy Model Makes List Of Demands For Bathing Suit Designers And It’ll Make You Say ‘Preach’

Looking for a bathing suit that fits your own unique body type can be a struggle for some. It’s no secret that most bathing suits are designed with girls who are sized 0-2 in mind for the most part. We’d like to say a big thank you to Sonny Turner for going a step further than just speaking out. Sonny is a model so it goes without saying she’s absolutely beautiful, she is also a curvy girl so finding a bathing suit for her is also an annoying task. It’s never easy finding a cute bathing suit that fits for bigger girls and obviously that narrows options to wearing an ill-fitting suit or a hideous one. In Sonny goes on to give specific outlines and ideas that would resolve a lot of these problems so many girls have to deal with.

There are tons of people who bring attention to this problem a lot of girls have. There are even a few companies beginning to design suits specifically for bigger girls. We have to thank Sonny for sharing these amazing ideas and it goes without saying there are definitely A few ideas we can get behind.

Amen, sister!

1. BIG BREASTS NEED UNDERWIRE FOR SUPPORT FOR A YOUTHFUL LIFT

2. WE NEED CUP SIZES THAT CORRELATE TO BRA SIZES AND THEY NEED TO GO PAST DD

3. WE NEED STRAPS THAT AREN’T SO TIGHT ITS AS THOUGH OUR NECK IS ABOUT TO SNAP OFF

4.WE DESERVE MORE CHOICE IN THE SELECTION FOR OUR BODY TYPE THAT ISN’T JUST THE GENERIC BLACK SWIMSUIT WITH A KIMONO

5.WE’RE GONNA NEED YOU TO STOP USING MODELS WITH FAKE BOOBS THAT AREN’T A REAL DEPICTION OF WHAT THE BRA WOULD LOOK LIKE ON OUR REAL DROOPY ONES

In an interview, Sonny went on to explain this issue has been something that has bothered her for a number of years. She explains how many women have to deal with this constant struggle and how it’s simply not fair. She blames the swimsuit companies for dropping the ball and she mostly blames it on them being lazy with their designs.

“The first time I realized they were only catered for one body was when I was about 14, around the time I went through puberty and I realized these bikinis have no support for boobs like mine, I think swimsuits are only made for one type of body simply because fashion houses are lazy,They want to make three simple sizes and hope we all fit into them. Some brands even only make ‘one size fits all.’ No it doesn’t. We all have lumps and bumps in different places and need support [and] coverage in different places.”

Keep the conversation going!

Sonny Turner plans on continuing to speak out and bring attention to a problem she thinks needs to be fixed. It’s not something unreasonable or even out of the question that all girl should have the option of buying clothes that will fit their bodies. Sonny’s goal is to keep the focus on how unfair yet easily resolved this problem can be. Her hopes are eventually the big fashion companies that produce the swimsuits will hear all the women’s voices and will make buying a bathing suit that fits their body type less of a struggle.

“I think more recently with the power of social media, more of us have a voice and we can use our platforms to help encourage change, I do think it will take high fashion industries to change as well, and then other brands should follow. But having one token plus model isn’t good enough. There should be more than one. And there shouldn’t be just plus size, there should be [models] in between too.”
