If you say you never bumped to T-Pain when you were younger, you’re a liar. The singer and rapper was the iconic voice of our Middle School years with hits like “Bartender,” “I’m Sprung,” and “Buy U A Drank.” When I was 13-years-old at dances, these were the anthems (I’m young and my taste in music back then was…well…yeah). The song “Buy U A Drank” was iconic 10-years-ago, but, now, we’re learning that we’ve been singing the song completely wrong all this time.
We all know the part in the chorus where T-Pain says “I’mma buy you a drank.” Following this line, we’ve all been under the assumption that the background singing says “Ouuuuweeeeee.”

However, T-Pain recently took to Twitter to explain that we’re completely wrong. Instead, he explains the lyrics are “and then.” I’m just as confused as you are.
It’s “and then” not “ooh wee” but really it’s whatever you want it to be just enjoy the song however you hear it. I just appreciate you listening. #BuyUADrank #THANX

There’s “ooh” and “and” happening at the same time but the part that you think is “weeeee” is actually “theeeeenn”

People on Twitter were in disbelief.
