Woman May Lose Her Sight After Getting A Poorly-Done Eye Tattoo

Some people in the world do things that I will absolutely never understand. They make poor choices and decisions and then blame other people for their actions. I’m all for freedom of thoughts, expressions and everyone having full control over their own bodies – but some ideas are just not the best to try out – just my opinion.

One woman shared on Facebook that she decided to go forth and get an “eye tattoo,” which is also known as a “Sclera Tattoo,” where they tattoo the whites of your eyes. While many people think it is “cool” and “edgy,’ some people advise against it. Like, ophthalmologist Philip Rizzuto, a spokesman for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, who claimed it’s “just never a good idea.”

But, model Catt Gallinger decided to go for it, tattooing her eye purple. After having the tattoo, she realized the job was “botched” and, is now at risk for going completely blind in her eye.

For everyone inquiring about my eye.
so this was done by Eric Brown three weeks ago. As it stands I will have to see a specialist and am at risk of being blind if it doesn’t get corrected.

This was caused by undiluted ink, over injection, not enough/smaller injections sights. There are multiple people who can attest that my aftercare was good and any other part of what I am saying.

I am NOT sharing this with you to cause trouble, I am sharing this to warn you to research who you get your procedures by as well as how the procedure should be properly done.

I have been to the hospital three times, I had no furry pets to cause any dander, and I wash my hands every time I do anything with my eye, both before and afterwards.

I was on antibiotic drops for the first week and a half and have been on steroid drops for four days now, with little success at bringing down the internal swelling. The external swelling lasted for almost a week.

The photos show the day of (purple drop), the day after(swollen shut) and now three weeks later. I will add more throughout the process

Just please be cautious who you get your mods from and do your research. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

I will be posting updates during the process publicly on my wall.

After her original post on Facebook, the model has been updating people and speaking out about her fight to keep her eyesight, as well as advice for anyone else who may be thinking about getting this kind of tattoo done – advising against it.

She has since been going to “The Eye Institute” for treatment and help, and said:

Sclera Tattoo Procedure Gone Wrong.

So I am home from the Eye Institute.
I have three more prescriptions that will end up costing me close to 300$ since two are not covered by anything.
If all 4 meds do not help, then we will be looking into surgical options. I will be back in to them on Tuesday to discuss that.
My cornea, thankfully, has not been crushed yet

As it stands, it has been agreed by both doctors and the surgeon that my eyesight will NOT get better. It will either go completely or stay a blurry mess. We are hoping that these meds or surgery will prevent it from getting worse.

There is hemorrhage and sclera tearing from the size of needle used, depth and amount if ink.

They are also concerned that the equipment was not sterile and that there is an infection stuck in with the excess ink.

People, please, don’t make my mistake. Please.

And, while Catt has been sharing her story online, people have been coming down pretty harshly on her for attempting to tattoo her eyeball.
