Getting up early also allots time for exercise, breakfast, meditation, and allowing you to “make your day top heavy“— In other words, complete your least desirable task first for a stress-free day.
5. Read
Randall Bell, a socio-economist who has been studying success for the last quarter of a decade writes: “Those who read seven or more books per year are more than 122 percent more likely to be millionaires as opposed to those who never read or only read one to three [books].”
Elon Musk literally learned rocket science from reading books.
If reading is not really your thing, think about the 1% rule. Read one page. The next day read two.
6. Carry a notebook
Bell also notes that “Those who maintain both a calendar and to-do list are 289 percent more likely to be millionaires, as compared with those who have no real set schedule.” Successful people “document insights” much more frequently, meaning they always carry around paper and ink.
As self-made billionaire Richard Branson says, “when inspiration calls, you’ve got to capture it.” Not every idea is going to be great. But every idea is worth writing down.
7. Make your bed and take out the trash
Whaaaat? Chores?!
Yes. Chores. People who do keep their space tidy are more successful and make more money. Doing your chores puts you in a productive mindset, what author Charles Duhigg calls a Keystone Habit; “Making your bed every morning is correlated with better productivity, a greater sense of well-being, and stronger skills at sticking with a budget.”
