Remember the good old days of running home from school everyday to immediately sign onto AIM and talk to your friends you literally just left 10 minutes ago? Remember having the weirdest, most pathetic screen names like LilCuTiEx33 or BballPlaya92? Or, all the times you’d put up elaborate, detailed away messages filled with song lyrics, metaphors or really strange phrases just to get people to HTC?
I know I do.
If you’re old enough to remember the days of AOL Instant Messenger, God Bless because they were the best. Some of us even got Sidekicks because they came with AIM installed already and we just couldn’t get enough of that open-door, close-door sound when someone signed in/off.
But, back in those days, we were kids – just going to school, coming home, BSing with our friends. Now, we’re adults in the “real world,” getting the Sunday Scaries and paying bills. What would our away messages look like now?

Someone genius out there created an Instagram account called Modern Away – and, it’s basically today’s thoughts put into the old school format of AIM away messages.
