The Latest “Game of Thrones” Episode Proved Women Are F*cking Powerful

In the latest episode of Game of Thrones, the takeaway is simple – who runs Westeros? Girls.

First of all – I’d like to say a big thank you to the writers of Game of Thrones because it’s been far too long since a “fantasy world” show gave women all of the power. I’d also like to say f*ck you to the writers of Game of Thrones for continuously killing off powerful women.

In a particular scene from Season 7, Episode 2 – Daenerys is speaking to Ellaria Sand of Dorne, Olenna Tyrell and Yara Greyjoy. Fans soon realize – women are actually super f*cking powerful this season. While Daenerys is leading the show, taking helpful advice from her hand – Tyrion – it’s clear to see that in several kingdoms – men do not hold power.

^WORD.

More specifically, the #girlpower vamps up in a conversation Daenerys has with Olenna Tyrell about her plans to move on King’s Landing. Olenna tells Daenerys that if it is peace she is after, she must realize it will never last. She says –

“Peace never lasts, my dear. Will you take a bit of advice from an old woman? I’ve known a great many clever men. I’ve outlived them all. You know why? I ignored them. The lords of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No. You’re a dragon. Be a dragon.”

Actual chills.

Not only does Daenerys rally the most bad-ass women in the seven kingdoms to help her take King’s Landing – but, Sansa Stark gets her own taste of power in this episode as well. Daenerys summons for Jon Snow to come to Dragonstone to become an ally in her cause. Tyrion claims that Jon Snow is a “just man” and a good person, and Daenerys is intrigued to gain an ally in the North.

Now, Jon Snow has a whole ‘nother reason for going to Dragonstone with a #hiddenagenda. Samwell Tarly sends word that Dragonstone lays on a mountain of Dragonglass – which we know, kills White Walkers. Daenerys is all about taking the Iron Throne and Jon is all about making sure everyone can live to see an Iron Throne. Definitely on different pages.

But, when Jon decides to leave Winterfell and ride to Dragonstone – he leaves his sister, Sansa Stark in charge.

And – I guess I have to mention Cersei is still queen (yawn).

Let me just break that down for you real quick –

Daenerys is the HBIC. Sansa Stark is currently holding power in the North. Yara Greyjoy is to be Queen of the Iron Islands. Ellaria Sand is holding power in Dorne (*was). Olenna Tyrell holds power in Highgarden.
