On Thursday, O.J. Simpson was granted parole from prison in Nevada, where he has been behind bars since 2007. After being arrested for a robbery in Las Vegas, Nevada, Simpson was sentenced to serve anywhere from 9 to 33 years. But, on Thursday, a four-person parole board granted Simpson the chance to be a free man and now, he can be released as early as October 2017. He has been in prison for the last 9 years.
While many people believe O.J. Simpson should be “locked up for life,” due to the 1994 murders of Ron Goldman and his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson – the parole board was forbidden from allowing his involvement to play any role in their decision. As well, Simpson was acquitted of charges involving the murder – although, people believe he was the one who had killed both individuals.
The justice system often times works in a strange way. However, looking at this 2017 court hearing makes many individuals who were around for the trial of the 1990’s feel – well, old for one – and also, mind blown that O.J. Simpson will be a free man.
Due to this preconceived notion that “O.J. Simpson is a murderer,” many people on Twitter were unhappy that he was granted parole.

Why are so many people upset that OJ Simpson was granted parole? ALMOST beheading someone isn't the same as actually beheading them.

OJ Simpson has been granted parole. As awful as it is, the board had to follow the law + not consider past behavior he wasn't convicted for

Hopefully OJ Simpson tells the parole board how much he's changed. He hasn't even killed anyone this century.
