Guys Across The World Are Wearing Skirts To Work & School To Prove A Valid Point

I guess?

In Europe, men are protesting “ridiculous” dress code rules in several professions by wearing skirts to work. Most specifically, the CFDT Semitan union – which represent the bus drivers in the French city of Nantes – are protesting in the streets because they are not allowed to wear shorts to work.

The issue arrises because of the rising temperatures in Nantes and the possibility for heat stroke. These men believe that it is unfair for them to not be allowed to wear shorts, when women drivers are allowed to wear skirts.

The men also argue that because their legs are under the steering wheel, bus riders would not see if they are wearing shorts or pants – and the ban is “absurd.”

Their YouTube video interview in explaining why they are wearing skirts in protest has been viewed over 200,000 times.

But, they are not the only people in Europe who are protesting the “no shorts at work” rules.

One U.K. call center employee was sent home from work one day when he was wearing shorts. Joey Barge showed up the next day not in a skirt, but in a dress. And, he actually brought about change. The company did change their dress code to allow men to wear shorts in black, navy and beige.

The “skirt” movement is even expanding to schools – as boys from Isca Academy in Exeter, Devon have “borrowed” skirts from their girl classmates to protest the “shorts ban” in the rising temperatures. Almost 50 boys showed up to school in skirts to protest.

It does make sense that if women are allowed to wear skirts – which are semi-more revealing than shorts – men should be able to wear shorts. With the rise in temperature, it’s only fair that men are equally as comfortable to wear what they please.
