While life might be giving people some extra time to nurse their grudges, Britney Spears is all about celebrating her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. The pop star posted a video to Instagram of herself dancing to Timberlake’s song “Filthy” from his Man of the Woods album and complimented her ex in the caption.
“This is my version of Snapchat or TikTok or whatever the cool thing you’re supposed to do these days ????????????????!!!!! As you can see I’m not really dancing folks …… I’m just very bored ????,” Spears wrote. “PS I know we had one of the world’s biggest breakups 20 years ago …… but hey the man is a genius !!!! Great song JT ✨ !!!! Pssss if you KNOW WHAT’S GOOD ???? !!!!!!”
I remember Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears wearing matching denim and being a superstar couple a very long time ago because I am old. I also remember the two had an acrimonious break-up after three years of dating, and Timberlake perhaps alluded to Spears cheating on him in the song “Cry Me a River.” As to what really happened? Still a mystery. But the two have clearly moved on with their lives, which is great because as Spears says, it was 20 years ago. Timberlake is married to actress Jessica Biel and they have a son, Silas. Spears has been dating personal trainer Sam Asghari since 2016 and parenting her two sons Sean and Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Timberlake returned Spears’ shout-out with a crying-laughing emoji.
Spears recently delighted social media with what appeared to be a call for political revolution. She posted a quote from writer and activist Mimi Zhu that said, “We will feed each other, re-distribute wealth, strike.”
