Over the last year or so, Kourtney Kardashian has gone from being one of my least fave Kardashian-Jenners to my top 2. This is largely because of the fact that at 39 years old, and three kids in, Kourtney is in the best shape of her goddamn life.
And she knows it. And she proudly and shamelessly flaunts it across Instagram. As she should.
Though there are plenty who give props to Kourt for living her best life, an alarming amount of comments below her bikini Instagram pictures come from people who apparently think being a sex object and being a mother are two separate spheres of existence that must never intersect.
Hate from anonymous strangers on social media is to be expected when you are a celebrity (and often, even if you aren’t). This sad fact of life is especially true for women, who are still expected to embody a world of contradictions, a world that opens and dooms them to attack from all sides no matter their behavior or appearance.
But hate and shame from a significant other and partner in crime — especially laid bare for entire world to see — is some WACK SH*T and is tbh grounds for a “boy, bye.”
Kourt’s 25-year-old boyfriend Younes Bendjima is cancelled. The pair has been together since 2016, which you’d think would be enough time for them to establish some ground rules within their relationship; namely, not to publicly shame each other on Instagram.
You’d think wrong, though, because that is precisely what Younes did when Kourtney posted this thirst trap photo of herself to Instagram:
Immediately, the hate began to roll in. Comments blasting Kourtney ranged from the body-shaming variety to the mom-shaming variety to everything in between.
Younes added to the milieu of aggression, writing in a since-deleted comment, “That’s what you need to show to get likes?”
Strong words for someone whose Instagram looks like THIS:
Anyone who truly believes Instagram is anything but one big thirst trap is in denial. Kourt’s supporters came to her defense below her sexy bikini pic.
According to People, Younes has always had a problem with Kourtney’s sexy pics. A close source to the couple told the magazine that the male model, whose job it is to pose naked for sexy pictures, “never liked that she posted sexy pictures of herself on social media.”
The source added: “He doesn’t want his girlfriend to do that. He gets that it’s her job, but wants her to post more covered up picture. He has always had a problem with this. This is the stuff they argue about and what made them split in the past.”
Whatever, Younes. Shaming women for showing their bodies is trash. BOY, BYE.
