On Friday, April 20th, reports broke that Swedish DJ and producer Tim Bergling, also known by his stage name Avicii, was found dead. He was 28-years-old.
According to a statement released by his publicist, he was found in Muscat, Oman Friday afternoon. No further details have been revealed about his death, however, his family has asked for privacy during this difficult time and indicated that “no further statements will be given.”

The DJ was one of the biggest names in the Electronic Dance Music world, with hits such as “Levels,” “Hey Brother,” and “Wake Me Up.” He announced In 2016 that he would retire from live-touring and opened up about his health struggles. In 2014, he suffered from acute pancreatitis and had his gallbladder and appendix removed.
Other musicians and fans have thanked the DJ on Twitter, saying how much he has truly contributed to the world of music and the impact he has left on the world.
