Fans Finally Found Out How Jack Dies In ‘This Is Us’ And They’re Heartbroken

If you’re a fan of the popular NBC show ‘This Is Us,’ you’d know that for years, you’ve been curious as to how Jack Pearson–the greatest father/husband, died. From Season 1, we knew that Jack had passed in the “real-time” scenes. But, for so long, we had no idea how/why. Of course, as the seasons went on, we fell more in love with Jack and his fatherly ways and were not looking forward to finding out. NBC aired “the episode” on Sunday night after the Super Bowl and, it’s pretty heartbreaking.

Fans found out in the previous episode that a slow-cooker had set the Pearsons’ house on fire. The entire kitchen was set up in flames when it caught fire. The cooker had been a gift from the family who previously owned the house and a bad switch caused it to combust. The smoke detector in the house had no batteries inside.

Many fans thought Jack’s death was from burning to death in his own home. But, they found out on Sunday that he actually died from something else entirely. Jack was rushed to the hospital (the same hospital where his wife Rebecca gave birth to their children), and was being treated for burns when he had a “Widowmaker heart attack,” which, caused his death.

The scenes in which Rebecca sees the love of her life lying in a hospital bed, dead, are absolutely devastating and hard to watch. Fans were absolutely heartbroken over the episode.
