A number of celebrities and plebes tweeted about Oprah Winfrey‘s inspiring, powerful speech at last Sunday’s Golden Globes. Hell yeah, Oprah! screamed (the liberal, celebrity-loving, non-racist corner of) Twitter collectively.
Enter unlikely protagonist Ivanka Trump, who urged people to unite in the #TimesUp movement to end gender inequality and sexual harassment. Yes that Ivanka, the daughter of the POTUS who also happens to be a creepy old guy with 22 sexual assault allegations under his presidential belt.

Can we blame Ivanka Trump for her father’s actions? Of course not. Can we call her a raging hypocrite for trying to edge into this movement while keeping completely silent and non-progressive concerning her father’s sexual misconduct? One thousand percent.
TIME’S UP is a legal defense fund started to help women access resources that will help them be heard and find tangible, legal justice for their suffered inequalities. It’s not simply about (at last) holding men accountable, but about giving the unheard long overdue voices and attempting to change the very fabric of the oppressive white-male-in-charge system.
