Let’s face it. Money can be tight. Some of the things we #need are just simply out of our price range. But why do these things have to be so hard to come by?! If you look closely at all of these luxury items, they’re made of pretty basic materials that you could acquire yourself (rather cheaply) and just do it all by yo-self. You save money, and your product will always be entirely unique. And if you’re anything like me, you’re already looking forward to a trip to your local art supply store to get ~crafty!~ Are you ready to be literally aroused by the power of the DIY world? I’ve collected some of my favorite projects that will be sure to ignite the Martha Stewart in you.
1. This spa-like bathtub shelf.
I feel spoiled just looking at this- and it’s super easy to make. At its easiest, it’s just a piece of wood that you can pick up from Home Depot or Lowes or wherever, stain it, and throw it on top of the walls of your tub. The more experience you have with woodworking, the more you can do it up and get a little fancy. Either way, this is a sure way to make yourself feel like a well-deserved spoiled brat.

2. These adorable mason jar magnet frames.
I don’t know about you, but I didn’t put 2 and 2 together and realize that mason jar lids are in fact magnetic. And this project is a perfect way to utilize some of the spare lids you may have laying around! Measure and glue your favorite photo prints onto the inner side of the lid, secure all the parts with hot glue, and bam. Stick ’em on your fridge.

3. This coffee table made of wooden crates.
You can find these crates pretty much everywhere, including your basic art store like Michaels. With a nice stain and a little bit of securing, you’ve got a coffee tablet that is sure to be a conversation starter. And it wasn’t several hundred dollars. Woo!
