31. David Harbour acted the entire scene of Elven’s “psychic tantrum” in Season Two.
Instead of using a body double, Harbour did the entire scene and stuck to it. The Duffer brothers said it was “an intense day of shooting.”
32. Bob was supposed to die way earlier on in Season Two.
The Duffer brothers were going to kill off Bob in the earlier episodes, but, they liked Sean Astin so much and his role that they let him ride it out until the end of Season Two (episode eight).
33. The Duffer brothers had to ask for permission to use the “Ghostbusters” costumes.
The brothers had to call the Ghostbusters’ director, Ivan Reitman, to ask for permission to use the costumes. Apparently, the phone call was very serious and he was skeptical about the Duffers using it – but, they explained how important the film had been to them growing up and how much they really wanted it to be apart of their show.
34. Steve’s “Risky Business” costume was to impress Nancy and her love for Tom Cruise.
Steve being a good boyfriend in Season Two really shines through in everything he does – like dressing up as Tom Cruise because Nancy has it hanging in her bedroom – with full Tom Cruise permission – for free.
35. Lucas’ sister, Erica, was supposed to have a much smaller role in Season Two.
Apparently, Priah Ferguson was a “small local hire” in Atlanta, but, they loved her so much and thought she was “very GIF-able” so they gave her a lot more screen time.
