Celebrities are written about in tabloid magazines on a minute to minute basis. Whenever a celeb is caught doing something by the paparazzi, it immediately gets spun into something much larger in mere moments. But, sometimes, celebrities are thrown under the bus and accused of things that are simply not true – like, for example, plastic surgery. It’s a common narrative in tabloid culture – a celebrity looks completely different than they did 15 years ago, so obviously, they paid to have work done. But, we often forget that celebs are people who go through changes – just like everyone else. Do you look exactly the same as you did when you were 11-years-old? I think not. Sarah Hyland of the hit TV show “Modern Family” is the latest celeb to be accused of undergoing plastic surgery, but, she’s not standing for it.
According to Hyland’s Twitter account, Life & Style magazine ran an article that documented her “transformation” over the last 10 years of her life in the spotlight. They also asked “expert” opinions from doctors on whether or not she had work done and what kind of work she had done. Sarah Hyland is 26-years-old – I think it’s safe to say that 16-year-olds’ appearances change over time and by the time we’re all 26, we definitely look a bit different than we did at 16. Come on now, it’s common sense.
When Hyland caught wind of the article, she immediately took to Twitter and spoke out against it – saying she was really mad.

She then proceeded to share a response that gave a reason for why she may look a bit different – claiming she’s been going through some medical issues recently and has been using medication to combat this.
Sorry. I meant @Life_and_Style. But I still mean 🖕🏼 pic.twitter.com/bIDpuxpF6p

Apparently, after seeing the response, the magazine took out the “expert doctor quotes” from their article – but, kept the article up on their site. Hyland was definitely not pleased.
Hey @Life_and_Style why don't you just delete the article about how different I look over the past 10 yrs instead of deleting "drs" comments pic.twitter.com/HUw8xjQevv

But – the best part of this clap-back was Hyland’s humorous and savage selfies uploaded to her Twitter, completely mocking the tabloid and its reports altogether.
Hey @Life_and_Style. Got some work done tonight. Going for a new look… gonna write about this now? pic.twitter.com/fhEpwWNxjZ
